Back in the B'Tron

Ah, so I'm back in the F'ing Burlington. It's good to be back, my dorm room is pretty much the hottest thing ever and my neighbours are Will Dugan and Alex Grause, so I got that going for me. Class Starts tommorrow, which won't be fun at all but whatever. It's weird being back without certain elemetns of last year, like eric and telemarketing, I sort of miss the things that aren't here right now, but Oh well. Hopefully going out tonight while I'm good and young before Green Mtn, and after classes tommorrow I am looking forward to getting a solid 3 hours in riding.

and Btw, Vassili Davidenko is the shit.

Saw the old guys, Scott and femia, etc, which was great. Hung out with Driscoll, he's a fucking great kid, even if I'm not sure what that punk is on. Whatever it is though, I want some too. He rode 180 miles yesterday. For the hell of it. Fucking freak.

I'm all jacked up on Mtn. Dew

Today was ridiculous. I went for my ride, which actually turned out pretty good, but even that was crazy. First I saw Rafael and like 8 Northeastern Hardware guys riding...and Rafael was leading them. Wearing a NYC Mets Baseball hat. On a ride. It was out of control.

Second, I'm riding a long and I see a lemonade stand with some kids, so I give them 2 bucks and ask for some lemonade, and even though it was only 50 cents I let them keep the change. So I go back on my ride and I pass a driveway, and tucked away on the left side of the road behind a bush is different lemonade stand, this one selling lemonade for 40 cents. I laugh and keep riding. EXCEPT....another 100 feet away on the right side of the road is a THIRD stand, this one selling lemonade for 25 cents. I honestly couldn't believe it.

So those two events made my ride. I got my new sidi's, which incredibly hot, got my new 'cross tires, my fork comes in tommorrow, I get a fit tommorrow with the new shoes, and I leave for UVM on saturday. I am very out of form right now so Green Mtn is not looking so hot, but you never know I could get lucky.

In any event, Im going to bed.

And now for something totally pathetic

Just thinking about growing up racing and the good times I've had with my good friend scott, who even though may not be as mackin' as DD is still one of the best teammates, co workers, and brothers a guy could have. It makes me proud to see the kid I used to ride in a lighted intersection outside my house talking about girls to be doing so well, even though the whole bike racing thing is so damn frusterating

In other news...I can think of more than a few people who need to pick up their f'ing phones.

So the shop ride was actually a lot of fun...Aiden showed up, Dave and I rocked the sprint, and it felt really good to get some fast miles in.. At the beginning it was crazy, since like 50 people showed up we actually had a paceline in the great swamp going 30mph. It wasnt hard, but def. a faster ride than usual. In any event, I also took pictures, but they arent loaded so the above one was one from my private stash. Can't wait for the next couple days; In them I am getting a new trainer, fork, 'cross tires, my cross bike back, a BB, chain, and hopefully oakleys so I am stoked.

Not a bad day so far, had a vaccination at the doctors, DIDN'T faint, for once, so that was good. I also started to pack for school which is a bit of a clusterfuck and is a little weird to not be doing it with anyone. Its also a lot easier 'cause I knwo exactly what I need and what I do not, so that is good.

Doing my last shop ride of the summer tonight, I dont really know why I do that stupid ride so much except perhaps I like being acting like a fool and making fun of other riders with David Devine. Jackie is also home so Maybe I'll get to see her later tonight.

My new Sidi Ergo 1's come in too soon so Im excited about that, along with my new trainer, fork, and oakleys I should be set at school. In any event, im gonan get ready for the ride, so I'll post later, maybe even after the ride if I'm extra bored or something eventful happens.

Oh and by the way, the current national champion thinks I'm "pretty fucking cool," and he doesnt know why he thinks so. So I got that going for me

A Hipopotamus is just a Really Cool Opotamus

Very bored. Today I rode with my dad, then went to work, and since then just worked on my bike in anticipation for school, but now I have nothing to do so I am listening to Mitch Hedberg and updating this thing.

Been thinking just simply how stupid and ridiculous this summer has been. Don't get me wrong, its had a lot of fun times and great racing, but could have been much better.

BUT, the time with the team and my friends was great.

In recent "Shakes" news, I have had the enjoyment of a recent surge in drunk dials from many numerous friends, which is always fun, even if they wake me up. I also start to train again on tuesday, which will be good.

Wait a second, What Happened?

So tonight I went and saw "Snakes on a plane" with my family, which was pretty much the most ridiculously unacceptable film ever created. And it was actually very enjoyable, for the mere fact that I think that every single person who worked on that film knew it was a farce and therefore did not try to make it better than it actually was. They just let the film turn into what it was and it was ridiculous in every sense of the word.

In other news, Beth moved away, I accidently threw my 130 dollar oakleys 20 feet into the wood on a ride, broke my carbon fork, got harrassed by a complete stranger, got a new fit, and other than commuting and riding on friday I have not been riding. Its been nice. I think Green Mtn will be my last race of the season, whereupon I will take 1-2 months off of training and just chill. I need to get a job to make some moeny and I have also been considering just staying active, maybe running a bit so I can do some 'cross without really training. We shall have to see.

so thats that.

AHHH Burnt

So I figured out that I crazy burnt out and tired...so I am taking some time off to create a blog, make some money, and rest up for Green Mtn. I think That will be my last race of the season, then I will be taking a long chunk of time completely off, followed by a winter of half-hearted Cyclocross and fun. I've debated a lot on what race to do, I have decided to race the Cat 3 as Vassilli wants me to win a few races before I move up...I have the points but no wins.

So that is that, just trying to wrap up this horrible summer on a decent note. Who knows? Maybe Green Mountain will be good to me this year, you never know....
